Why aren’t we promoting health?
Why isn’t main stream media talking about promoting health? Why aren’t the headlines about the importance of nutrition and exercise in dealing with COVID-19? It doesn’t appear that it will be going away, so shouldn’t we be promoting a healthy (or healthier) lifestyle instead? Instead, we are promoting fear and fear suppresses our immune system. Most people are breathing in their own germs, staying inside, exercising less, not sleeping well, and not eating as well as they should. Obesity is an increased risk factor, as the inflammation in a person’s body does not help them combat this virus (references below).
It’s an unfortunate fact that health officials and authorities, by and large, are completely ignoring the role a healthy lifestyle plays in the COVID-19 pandemic. But that doesn’t totally surprise me, because the public at large is always looking for medicine (or vaccines) to cure their sickness instead of focusing on ways to prevent it from happening, and/or ways to fight it naturally if and when it occurs. But creating health doesn’t make them any money, there is no profit in encouraging people to eat differently or to exercise.
If CV isn’t going away, are people going to isolate, socially distance themselves, and wear a mask for the rest of their life? Or will they move away from fear and focus on building a stronger immune system to handle it, if and when you are exposed? Or possibly do both, or even a combination?
Life involves the risk of illness and death. Every day of every year of your life, people take chances. We drive cars and don’t even think about the fact that another car could slam into us and we could die. We walk in stores not knowing if a mass shooter will enter. We live knowing that chronic disease, infectious disease or even cancer could strike us, no matter what we do.
So, are people going to continue to live in fear? And when that happens, how healthy is that for your body? First of all, we lose sleep. And when we lose sleep, our immune system is depressed. And I don’t mean depressed as in sad (though certainly if that possibility existed, maybe that could happen). But I mean sleep is when we rebuild and regain strength. Less sleep is not the answer.
That is not the way to be. We need to be eating healthy nutritious foods, exercising daily, sleeping long and strong, focusing not on fear but on creating even better health, and getting regular chiropractic adjustments to help deal with the stress that we are experiencing. We need to turn off the TV, or at least the news (this week we’ve been watching non-stop Shark Week on Discovery Channel). The news doesn’t cover the positive stuff, no one wants to know about that, they mostly focus on fear and negativity. This isn’t going away.
As I’ve stated from the start, build your immune system. Always. Every day. And ask us if we can help.
