Reversal of paralysis & incontinence in dogs

Dr. Pamela Stone2 animal chiropractic, Blog, Uncategorized animal chiropractic, can chiropractic help, canine chiropractor, canine paralysis

We’ve had several dogs come to our office who have had paralysis and/or incontinence, some of them in the early stages and some in the end stages. Recently, a fellow animal chiropractor in Michigan wrote up a great research paper on this subject, basically summarizing her care of 24 dogs that had paralysis initially. ALL DOGS had a reversal of their paralysis, incontinence and muscle wasting following chiropractic care. The average number of visits was 5. No, the reversal doesn’t happen overnight, but it can happen.

I love this kind of research and these results. If you have a dog that is experiencing this, or know of a dog that is, please let us know. Maybe chiropractic care can help them. Wouldn’t it be great if it were your dog, and he/she could walk again, or didn’t lose control of their bladder or bowels inside your home? While results are never guaranteed, to me it’s certainly worth the 5-10 visits it may take.

And yet, the best thing is to get your dog adjusted before they get to this stage. The little limps they do, shaking of paw, hoping around…can all be early signs of disc problems.  Let us know if we can help.

Running & Chiropractic

I finally did it.  It’s been 8 months. Eight long months of doing things different. An MRI, x-rays, 4 PRP injections, physical therapy, at home strength training, swimming, stretching, yoga, walking & hiking. Many of you know I have been a lifelong runner, it started in high school and hasn’t really stopped until now. So […]

Hydrocephalus in dogs

I wasn’t sure if I should write about this, since I’m mad, aggravated and sad at the same time. I’m also fairly private, there are certain personal things I just don’t talk about. I like to keep the office upbeat, healthy and fun. But Loka has become such a big part of the office, so […]

Important vs. Urgent

I was talking to someone earlier this month about how I balance out my life, and I kind of chuckled, because sometimes I just don’t think there’s any balance. And can you really balance a dozen or so high priority things?  Or is it a shuffle?  On my high priority list is managing the office, […]
