Endurance sports, chiropractic & massage
I love writing about success stories … you know, the stories where patients have had great experiences with chiropractic care. People under chiropractic care can have a variety of positive responses, anything from decreased headaches, to less low back pain, more comfortable pregnancy, less sinus congestion, whatever it may be. It all results from less interference in the nervous system, since when you get adjusted, the chiropractic adjustment removes/reduces nerve interference so the body can function at its optimal performance.
Recently we had a patient complete a 53-mile trail race! Yeeks, that is quite a distance to run! To date, I have run 9 marathons (with #10 coming up in 5 weeks), yet a 53-mile race is not something that is on my goal list. What made this race even harder was 1) it was run on trails, which is always much harder than roads and 2) it was in pouring rain, thus resulted in several inches of mud to run/walk through.
This particular person gave credit to chiropractic care to help keep her training on target, keep her injury free, balanced, and just functioning at her best potential. On top of chiropractic care, massage therapy was added to help relax the muscles, remove toxins and stress from the heavy training mileage, increase circulation, and improve flexibility. With proper training, proper nutrition and an amazing attitude, she was able to successfully complete a very tough course.
Being an athlete myself, I can’t even imagine trying to run long distance (or anything) without incorporating regular chiropractic adjustments and massage into my weekly schedule. If you want to function at your best and you are not under chiropractic care, start today. It is never too late and can be that little thing that makes a big difference in your life and performance.
