A busy life
My goodness this was a crazy busy month. We had our annual Ladies Night Out event, then I had events with the Georgia Birth Network and BNI (& all three events were held within 5 days of each other!). On top of that, my husband was out of town the last three weekends for seminars/work, leaving me as a single mom. And now in 5 days I am going to try to run a half marathon. I say try because I don’t feel as prepared for this race as I’d like to be.
You see, I don’t like to do races unless i can really “race” it, I mean why spend the money if you are just going to run? My intention was to go into the race strong and fit, yet I’m going in somewhat strong and somewhat fit. I know by many people’s standards I’m in good shape, I just wanted to be in better shape. However with my husband away so much this past month, it cut into my training and I just wasn’t able to train the way I wanted to. On top of that add one day of having a slight case of food poisoning, and my running has been minimal.
Oh well, there’s nothing I can do now except to run as hard as I can, and hopefully make it a good day. I love running and racing, and am very much looking forward to this race as I have a lot of friends running it as well. It is the Rock ‘n Roll marathon and half-marathon in Savannah, GA…..i figured it’s a good way to go visit that city.
For the past several years I have been a coach with Get Fit Atlanta, a running and triathlon training group, so I have several people I know that I’ve been helping to coach, who are all headed to Savannah for their first race. It will be exciting, and as of now the weather looks perfect. Let’s hope it stays that way.
So we’ll see how I do coming off a busy stressful month, but it’s been a great month. We’ve been able to take care of a lot of people in our office, guiding them to better health, less pain, and improved quality of life. Nothing beats helping someone and I feel lucky that I can do that every day.
Stay tuned for the outcome of this race this weekend. In the meantime, have a great November!
