Peachtree Road Race, healthy choices, bullying & more…
Today I should be getting up and driving into Atlanta to run the Peachtree Road Race with 55,000 other runners. I have a love-hate relationship with that race, it’s always so hot & humid, and getting there/getting home is always so difficult … but it’s kind of a fun race with so many people running and so many others cheering you on. This week someone asked me if I missed racing and yes, of course I miss it, though I feel it is sort of God’s way of forcing me to take a bit of a break. Not push myself, not race, let my body rest up. July 4th is a strange kind of holiday this year. No parades, no races, minimal gatherings, minimal fireworks. We should be celebrating our freedom & independence, but that certainly is in question right now. In some situations, we aren’t allowed to make many of our own choices. And that is sad.
We are living in super tough times, and so many people have strong opposing feelings to all of this. The basic bottom line that I’ve stated from the beginning, is that we all need to be building our immune system, so we can handle this virus if and when we get exposed to it. It’s out there, and minimal for so many people, because we have an immune system that is created to fight off germs. So let’s work to strengthen it, and keep it strong.
However, what I see is many people not fully taking responsibility for their own health. We blame others. Instead, we should be encouraging others to make healthy lifestyle choices. Remember, you, as an individual, are responsible for your own health. You control the foods and supplements you consume; you control whether or not you exercise; you control if you smoke or drink alcohol; you control your sleep patterns; you control if you get adjusted or not. Yes, sometimes these things are out of our control (all the parents out there with little ones who are up all night…), but for the most part, we really should be responsible for our own health. Nutrition and supplementation are so important right now, more so than ever, yet some people choose not to improve their nutrition and instead demand others to wear masks so they don’t get sick. And that just doesn’t make much sense to me.
So many studies show that Vitamin C & D levels can really help in the fight against CV, but those stories are not on main stream media, because well, the media doesn’t really want you to know that. Instead they instill fear. And it’s working, sadly enough. So as I’ve stated before, taking care of oneself needs to be a priority. Everyone needs to be supplementing right now. And getting adjusted so their nervous system can better handle the stress of all that’s going on. Remember the nervous system controls & coordinates everything in the body (including the immune system, the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, etc.). And when you get adjusted, chiropractors are working with the nervous system. And people can perform and function better.
We need to do a better job of taking responsibility for our own health. We have to stop bullying others. We tell our children not to bully at school, yet adults are being huge bullies to each other right now. We judge others. We turn people in for not social distancing. We look at people funny who don’t wear masks. We look at people funny who do wear masks. We are mad if people don’t wear masks, and we are mad if people do. It is so screwed up. And unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon.
The numbers are rising, which really doesn’t surprise me, it only makes sense. More places are testing, more people are going to get tested, so numbers will increase. And because of that, people get scared. No one wants to get this virus. Yet I wonder how many people have already had it (especially back in the fall and winter). I question a lot of this. I have a lot of doubts. I don’t trust many things and I have a lot of fear. And if you want to ask me more of my thoughts, I’ll share the websites to look at, people to follow, and questions you should ask. Please. Take responsibility for your own health right now, because pretty soon you may not have any choice.
