Disney World & Maximizing Your Potential
Two weeks ago my son had his fall break from school, which seems quite strange because it really was still “summer”, but after starting school on August 1st, it was time for a break. We hung out for a few days and then took off for five days in sunny Florida. First stop – the “Happiest Place on Earth” – as we went to Disney World (though if you ask Siri where the happiest place on earth is, she’ll tell you Denmark). The trip to Disney was more of a 2nd idea, an add-on to the main trip, but Disney really was the highlight of the trip. After 2.5 days at Disney, we drove down to Legoland, which is what he really wanted to see. Legoland was a cute little park/resort, but more aimed for the 3-6 year old. However my son loves Legos and combined with the water park there, we kept busy for the time we were there.
Disney World however, was a great trip. It really does appeal to people of all ages. Since most kids are in school in mid-September, the park was not as crowded as normal, and the most we waited in any line was about 20 minutes. We visited all four parks, the favorites being Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios (he loves Star Wars, which was the highlight at Hollywood Studios).
We rode every rollercoaster we could go on, some of them twice, and I walked away after our days there wondering how people could go on those rides and never follow it up with an adjustment. While Disney has some of the smoothest rollercoasters out there, I still felt all out of wack and needed an adjustment upon my return.
It’s always amazing to me when I talk to new patients and they tell me they’ve never had an accident or fall, and don’t think they need chiropractic care. Falls and accidents are not the only way someone becomes subluxated. Rollercoasters can cause it too. Have you ever been on one? What about wake boarding or tubing?
People can get subluxated in so many ways; the first way is often the birth process. Being curled up in-utero, then pushed through the birth canal, then pulled out (via birth or C-section), then rolling over, learning to walk, falling, sports, rollercoasters, sleeping on your stomach and the list goes on. Just because you don’t feel subluxated doesn’t mean you aren’t.
Chiropractic care is about checking for subluxations & correcting them, providing advice & tips on holding your adjustments and strengthening your spine, and allowing your body to function at its best potential. When you are subluxated you don’t perform as well as possible, your health potential is not optimal, and you cannot be at your best. While that rollercoaster helped to remind me that I needed to get adjusted, I get checked and adjusted weekly. Sometimes I don’t need an adjustment, sometimes I only need it in 1-2 spots, and sometimes I need a full overhaul. It all varies.
So if you are alive, if you have ever been on a rollercoaster, have ever experienced anything in life, do yourself a favor and get to a chiropractor for a check up. You literally live your life through your nervous system. Everything you think, say or do is your nervous system processing your life, and if you want it to do that as best as possible, then get adjusted.
