Athletes and Chiropractic Care
I usually love watching the Super Bowl, however this year I just wasn’t as excited about it after the Patriots lost, not allowing them to make it even to the AFC Championship game. I didn’t really care who won and wasn’t sure who I was going to root for until about a week before the game, I learned something about Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is a big fan of chiropractic, mostly because his father is a Chiropractor in California. Excellent, I had my team to root for (okay, truth be told, I was leaning towards the Packers since the Steelers are in the same division as the Patriots). Go Aaron!
I always love it when another well known athlete comes out and talks about the benefits of chiropractic care and how much it has helped him as an athlete. I’m not sure why we need athletes to talk about chiropractic, but it certainly is exciting when an athlete talks about how much it has helped him or her. Though I can’t name them all, some of the top list of athletes who use chiropractors regularly include Derek Jeter, Lance Armstrong, Tiger Woods, John Smoltz, triathletes Laura & Greg Bennett, Jerry Rice, Evander Holyfield, Joe Montana, and the list goes on. In fact, Lance Armstrong says he could not have won 7 Tour de France’s without help from his chiropractor. Regular adjustments can be that tiny thing that makes a big difference.
On a personal note, I have been competing in triathlons and running races for over 25 year, and totally credit regular adjustments to keeping me healthy and injury free. Prior to getting adjusted, i would get muscle pulls and head colds and though not very often, it was often enough to slow down or affect my training. During the past 15 years of being under chiropractic care, I must say I’m never injured (with the exception of being hit by a motorcycle once), but other than that, if I feel a muscle pull coming on, I get adjusted, stretch out, and get massaged if I can. Chiropractic care plays a huge role in keeping me aligned and balanced, and keeping my nervous system working properly so I can function to the best of my ability.
Who do you know who is not getting adjusted? Are they an athlete? Even if they aren’t, regular chiropractic care will allow your body to function optimally, so you can be the best you possible.
