Healthy Children
Can you imagine having your child taken away from you? What if you dreamed of having a child and then at the last minute, that child is not yours? That is essentially what is happening to 46 couples today, since on Friday the president of Russian banned all International Adoptions. As many of you know, my son was adopted from Russia over 3½ years ago. We spent five weeks in Russia. We had a court date that finalized the adoption, and then we had to wait 10 days to “get” our son (he was still in the orphanage during those 10 days), and then stayed there another five days doing more paperwork just to leave the country. At this time, there are U.S. families currently in Russia in the middle of that process, who may never be able to leave the country with their newly adopted child. My heart breaks for them.
I was one of those moms in Russia, waiting patiently every day to take my new child home. I never felt comfortable until we went through customs & immigration at the Atlanta airport. Once we got out of that room (after 22 hours of being awake), I was too tired and too exhausted to cry, yet they would have been tears of joy. I can’t even imagine how those families feel right now, and pray that they can continue the adoption process and leave Russia with their child.
Many of you have heard me talk about our son and how healthy he is, considering what he has gone through. He was not breastfed and he was vaccinated his first year, two things that weaken his immune system. However, he has been getting regular chiropractic adjustments and he takes Juice Plus supplements (he loves theChewables — and kids get it for free!), and those two things are working hard to keep him healthy. At this time of year, so many people are sick and (knock on wood), he’s been able to fight off all these illnesses and has been doing really well. (Ask us how kids get JP for free).
If your child isn’t under chiropractic care, please get them adjusted. You never know their full potential if they are living a life with a stressed out nervous system.Chiropractic adjustments can make a huge difference in the life of a child. Think of your child being taken away from you, and what would you do if that were the case? If you feel that strongly, why would you leave your child at home and not get them adjusted? It doesn’t make sense to me, when parents say they can’t afford it or want to wait, it’s sort of like they are saying their child isn’t that important. To me, nothing is more important than a child. If finances are a problem, look at what else you can cut out in order to afford chiropractic care. Or talk to us about our family options. It’s a New Year and a new commitment, and nothing is more important than a child’s health. In the meantime, pray for the families in Russia so hopefully they can take their child home and make a big difference in the life of that child.
