24 hours in a day
I live my life pretty efficiently, as most hours of my day are completely planned out. I don’t like to waste time, which isn’t always good, as I’m always on the go (except with sleep of course!). Prior to going to bed, I’m planning out my next day – when I’m going to wake up, when I’m going to work out, where I’m going, what I’m doing, etc. Working out is always something that is planned into my day, as that is important to me. That’s really my down time, my me time, my time to reflect, chill, think and set my mind free, all while getting in a workout. And then there is work stuff (like writing this blog & newsletter), planning my social media posts, doing journaling work for my husband, answering tons of emails, and planning school stuff and homeschooling our son. It’s a lot, just like others, I’ve got a lot going on.
Nowhere in there is time for reading though, and I wish I could find that time, but I just don’t. Sometimes I read before going to bed, but lately that period of reading has turned into scrolling through social media, while being on the Posture Pump for my neck, or doing some night stretches. As I get older, I’m realizing my body is just not as flexible as before, so these 15 minute night stretches have helped….I think. And the Posture Pump has really made a difference in my hands not falling asleep at night or me waking up with hand tingling & in pain (we sell these things at the office, they are amazing).
How many hours are there in your day? It’s not really a trick question, but we all have 24 hours in a day, and what we choose to do with that time helps determine who we are. There are so many things I just don’t have time for yet they are things that other people do. So why is it they can do it but I cannot? It’s all about priorities, as what is important for one person may not be important for someone else. And that’s okay. It’s my choice. It’s their choice.
What are you putting your time into? When you say you don’t have time for something, it’s only because you don’t think it’s a priority, there are other things more important to do. And that’s okay, as long as those other things really are important and are helping you become a better you. And sometimes these priorities change. I use to do a lot of scrapbooking, but ever since we started homeschooling our son, I just don’t have time for that because I’m planning out his stuff and/or doing school work with him. I train for all sorts of races, sometimes they take a lot out of my schedule and sometimes they do not, depending on the length of the race.
So don’t make any more excuses or let yourself feel bad for not doing something because you don’t have time. You do have time, you are just doing something else with that time. And is that something else helping you become a better you? Or are you watching TV mindlessly when you could be reading, or working out, or meal prepping? Or did you already get those things done and watching TV is your down time? Use your time wisely, work on something every day that will help make you a better, stronger you.
